Things to Consider when Buying Custom Optics from a New Manufacturer

Choosing the right optical lens manufacturer for the custom optics you need is key if you want to be happy with the order you receive.

Luckily, if you find a lens manufacturer offering these things when you order your custom optics, you should not have any problems at all.

Decades of experience -- Whether you are ordering from an optical lens manufacturer in the United States or overseas, finding one with decades of experience is important.

Especially when it comes to the design of your custom optics, the optimization and the manufacturing that can produce them as quickly as you need.

ISO:900 certified -- Any lens manufacturer you order from should always be ISO:900 certified. That way you are not only guaranteed to be buying extremely high-quality lenses, but will also be ordering from a company that uses its in-depth DFM knowledge in the design and manufacturing process.

English-speaking representatives -- In all likelihood, due to increased prices, you will be ordering your next custom optics from a company outside the U.S.

If you are, be sure they have an English-speaking team that will work with you during the prototyping and manufacturing process. That way there will never be misunderstandings that could have been easily avoided without a language barrier.

Low engineering fees -- When it comes to ordering custom optics, engineering fees can get out of hand with some manufacturers.

Be sure you ask about all engineering fees before you place an order, and then compare them with quotes you have received from other Optical lens manufacturer.

Testing facilities -- Finally, ask about the testing facilities a manufacturer uses.

Are they certified to international specifications, and is all testing consistent with the same requirements a company in Europe or the United States would be follow?
